Licensed Practical Nurses are eligible for advanced placement in the Associate Degree Nursing Program when they have the following requirements:

The student must have an ACT composite score of 18 and a grade point average of 2.0. Students with less than the required ACT composite score must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours with a 2.5 grade point average before being admitted. They must have made at least a grade of "C" on Anatomy and Physiology courses, which are in the above 12 semester hours.

Hold a current unencumbered license to practice as an licensed practical nurse in Mississippi.

Submit documentation from a direct nursing supervisor verifying one year of recent clinical experience.

Academic pre-requisites (see requirements below).

Score 100% on dosage calculation test given prior to admission (at a time to be determined).

Attend a scheduled upgrade orientation (at a time to be determined).
Applications for the College may be obtained from the Office Of Admissions, Records and Research P. O. Box 129, Decatur, MS 39327, online at www.eccc.edu or by calling 601-635-6206. Information required to be on file in that office by November 15 of the year of admission are:
1. East Central Community College application
2. Official transcripts from all colleges previously attended.

Application packets for the bridge program may be obtained after August 1 each year from the Associate Degree Nursing Program Office, P. O. Box 129, Decatur, MS 39327, or by calling 601-635-6293. Application packets must be submitted together in a single packet to the Associate Degree Nursing Program office by November 15 of the year of admission. You must include the following items in this packet:
1. Bridge Program Application
2. Unrestricted Mississippi LPN license number
3. Documentation of one year recent clinical practice from a supervisor
4. Documentation of an ACT score
5. A copy of transcripts from all colleges previously attended
6. Application packets that do not include all the previously listed items may not be considered.
