The healthcare assistant works under the direction and supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and other medical staff.  Healthcare assistants have a great deal of contact with patients and provide personal care. This curriculum prepares the student for the State of Mississippi Nurse Aide Exam.

Graduates of the one semester program will be awarded the Certificate of Health Care Assistant.  Students who complete the program may qualify for employment as Homemakers, Nurse Assistants, Long-Term Care Aides, or Home Health Aides in the Mississippi health care industry
