Foreman Named ECCC Physical Plant Director

Artie Foreman

John Arthur (Artie) Foreman of Little Rock was recently selected Director of the Physical Plant at East Central Community College in Decatur, announced ECCC President  Dr. Phil A. Sutphin.

Forman, who began his new duties on Oct. 14, 2009, joined the College’s maintenance department in 1993.  He was promoted to grounds supervisor in 1997 and was chosen supervisor of maintenance in 2001.

Dr. Sutphin said Foreman’s “long tenure with the College and his ever increasing responsibilities” make him an “excellent choice” as physical plant director.

He added, “Mr. Foreman’s depth of knowledge about this campus is extensive and his contribution to meetings with architects and contractors has been extremely valuable. Since the death of Mr. Clinton Russell, Mr. Foreman has, for all practical purposes, been the on-the-ground supervisor for the physical plant.”

A 1988 graduate of Beulah Hubbard High School, Foreman received an associate in applied science degree in drafting and design technology from ECCC in 1990.

He is married to the former Pam Monroe of Meridian. They have a son, Peyton Foreman, a seventh grader at Newton County Middle School.

The Foremans are members of Hopewell Baptist Church in Little Rock, where Artie is a deacon and serves as youth director.
